When I lived in Western New York, I always enjoyed seeing cardinals, but they seemed to be outnumbered by bluejays. I’ve really come to appreciate them, now that I’m living in Missouri. Interestingly enough, the state bird for both New York and Missouri is the Eastern Bluebird.
I lived in Missouri for a couple of years as a child, but didn’t pay much attention to the birds then. Blue jays outnumber cardinals here in southeast Texas, too – at least in my yard – but it’s the cardinals that speak to me. Thanks for stopping by.
